Toen ik klein was wilde ik altijd een broer. Een zusje had ik al en die was best chill. Maar een broer, dat leek me echt het einde. Een hele knappe en sterke natuurlijk. Eentje die voor me op kon komen wanneer nodig en waarmee ik WWF wrestling kon spelen in plaats van kappertje, zoals met mijn zusje.
Maar het zat er niet in. In hun oneindige wijsheid, besloten mijn ouders dat twee van die rare meiden wel genoeg was. Een broer. Echt, als je er eentje hebt, koester hem dan.
Niet iedereen denkt er overigens zo over. Anna bijvoorbeeld heeft niks met broertjes. Vooral niet van die gestreepte tijgerbroertjes, die opeens in huis verschijnen. Zo’n broertje dat erbarmelijk kan miauwen, maar totaal niet bang is. Anna lust dat soort broertjes voor ontbijt. Althans, dat wil ze dat broertje en ons laten geloven. Maar als je goed kijkt, zie je dat Nicolai – die sinds gisteren eindelijk bij ons woont – Anna de stuipen op het lijf jaagt.
Ze blaast, ze gromt, ze staart en haalt af en toe uit. Maar echt veel stelt het niet voor. Éen echte beweging van Nicolai en ze rent weg alsof haar leven ervan afhangt. Watje.

Volgens dokter Google is dit allemaal heel erg normaal. Dus kijk ik ernaar alsof ik niks anders gewend ben. Maar even tussen jou en mij ….ik vind het eindeloos spannend. Ben doodsbang dat ze elkaars ogen uitkrabben en mijn hart stopt elke keer dat die ruggetjes omhoog gaan en die staart begint te zwiepen.
Hoe lang het duurt voordat ze elkaar leuk gaan vinden? Ik weet het niet. Uiteraard heb ik geprobeerd het een en ander met Anna te bespreken, maar onze grande dame zwijgt in alle talen behalve groms.
Spannend hoor!
